No knitting Mojo

So I've totally lost it. My knitting Mojo that is. I just have no enthusiasm for my knitting. And I can't bear it. It's awful. I shouldn't really cast on for something new but maybe it'll reginite my interest. So, maybe I'll go upstairs and do a bit of stash diving.. . Let me show you first, my new favourite spot in the house.

I bought this chair on eBay last week, and it was a relative steal..... It needs some minor repair here and there, but I'll let it off. It is afterall, an authentic and original art deco armchair. I love it. All James could manange was 'It smells like old people's homes', which I think is mightly unfair. It doesn't at all. We also had the whole 'its not chic, it's just shabby' conversation. Not chic, I ask you, how is 1920/30's design not chic? Well, OK, maybe he has a slight point. But I still love it!

So, here, displayed on said chair is my 'precious' stash. A box of yarn that is reserves for special ocassions. It shall not be swapped, or gifted, or used to knit presents. It is for Me. Most of it was gifted by SPs, or kind swappers, or bought on special trips. See anything in there you like? Yeah, me too. Just not sure what I can use any of it for, now. Maybe I'll cast on some simple socks. Yes, maybe I'll do that..... Or maybe I'll just increase my stash tonight at Posh Yarn. They update tonight, and I like everything on the site.....
I may not have knitting mojo, but my fingers are getting greener.... snap dragon, violas and lobelias. See.....

Hee, El Valiente and I have had the shabby / chic debate! We have yet to reach a consensus :)

I think the chair looks wonderful - an excellent place to cast on your 'precious' project!!!

Good luck!

Ooh, lovely window boxes! I'm getting more and more inspired to plant pretty things as well as useful things...

You could always ensconce yourself in the fab new chair and try those Jaywalkers you were pondering, see if your mojo can be tempted back that way?

Nice chair. I agree, don't force it. I'm looking forward to seeing what reignites your mojo for you.

Stash the knitting and enjoy the spring. It's time to get outside and get your hands dirty. There are plenty of cold rainy knitting days ahead.

I agree with the post that "cat" made. Try starting a new project, sitting in your lovely new chair.

And, I just love snap dragons. They've been one of my favorites, ever since my Mom showed me how they "snap" when I was a little girl. Your window boxes will look lovely.

Oh dear, poor you! I don't think you should force it either. Find other things that get you going such as developing those green fingers of yours, going riding, sewing etc. There's no point forcing yourself to do something when you're not feeling up for it. And you have a fab stash of beautiful yarns to play with when you next feel the urge.

I love the armchair! Definitely chic rather than shabby. We're always having the kitch vs tacky debate (and sometimes kitch vs tasteless) - for example my retro Chairman Mao clock with the waving hand (some would argue tasteless...) and my Dusty the Dustbin moneybox (kitch I tell you!).

I am totally feeling you, Nell. It's spring, go out and move about, that's what I'm telling myself! I'm hoping to go camping - and when I come back, I do believe that my knit mojo will come back too!

Your stash yarn is lovely, I should have a play some time.

Oh, and are you still selling those 'button' purses on etsy? Can I purchase one?

Thanks

I don't think your chair looks a bit shabby in that lovely bright alcove, and covered in gorgeous yarn, it looks downright glam. You'll get your knitting powers back, I'm sure.
